A court authorized the Notice because you have the right to know about the Settlement of this class action lawsuit, and about all of your rights and options, before the Court decides whether to grant final approval to the Settlement. The Notice explains the lawsuit, the Settlement, your legal rights, what Settlement benefits are available, who is eligible for them, and how to get them.
The Honorable Lindsay C. Jenkins of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois is overseeing this class action. The lawsuit is known as Grivetti et al. v. Dental Intelligence, Inc., Case No. 1:25-cv-02464. The people who filed this lawsuit are called the “Plaintiffs,” and the company they sued, Dental Intelligence, Inc., is called the “Defendant.”
The Plaintiffs filed this lawsuit against Defendant on behalf of themselves and all others similarly situated alleging that information individuals shared when using the LocalMed Portal to schedule, modify, or re-schedule an appointment between March 2022 and June 2025 was disclosed to third parties without their consent. In particular, the lawsuit alleges that the LocalMed Portal collected information provided by individuals who used it and allegedly transmitted this information to Google and other unauthorized third parties without individuals’ consent. If you have received this notice, Dental Intelligence, Inc.’s records indicate that you used the LocalMed Portal to schedule an appointment with one of your medical providers.
Defendant denies all allegations and denies any wrongdoing or liability and maintains that its practices are consistent with industry standards and the disclosures set forth on its platform. The Court has not made any determination regarding the allegations of wrongdoing by Defendant or whether any law has been violated. Instead, the Plaintiffs and Defendant have agreed to a settlement to avoid the risk, cost, and time of continuing the lawsuit.

In a class action, one or more people called Class Representatives sue on behalf of other people who have similar legal claims. Together, the people are a class or class members. One court resolves the issues for all class members, except for those class members who timely exclude themselves (opt out) from the class.
The Plaintiffs and Defendant do not agree on the merit of the legal claims made in this lawsuit. The lawsuit has not gone to trial, and the Court has not decided in favor of the Plaintiffs or Defendant. Instead, the Plaintiffs and Defendant have agreed to settle the lawsuit. The Class Representatives and their lawyers believe the Settlement is best for Settlement Class Members because of the Settlement benefits available and the risks and uncertainty associated with continuing the lawsuit.

Objecting is simply telling the Court you do not like something about the Settlement. You can object only if you stay in the Settlement Class. Requesting exclusion (opting out) is telling the Court you do not want to be part of the Settlement Class or the Settlement. If you exclude yourself, you cannot object to the Settlement because you are no longer part of the Settlement Class.
